Major Milestone for Mordialloc Bowls Club
What an exciting afternoon at Mordialloc Bowls Club today as we officially opened our two new greens. The event brought together key community leaders and supporters who have helped make this significant upgrade possible.
We were honoured to welcome Mayor Georgina Oxley and Deputy Mayor Sarah O’Donnell from Kingston City Council, along with Tim Richardson MP, Member for Mordialloc. Other council representatives also joined us for this special occasion, demonstrating the strong partnership between the club and our local community.
Government and Council Partnership
This significant upgrade was made possible through a grant from the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister Spence, with the valuable assistance of MP Tim Richardson. Their support for grassroots sporting infrastructure has been instrumental in bringing these new greens to life.
Kingston Council Mayor Georgina Oxley also contributed financially to the project and appointed one of their team members as Project Manager, demonstrating Council’s strong commitment to supporting community sporting facilities. The partnership between state government, local council, and our club has delivered enhanced facilities that will serve our members and the wider community for years to come.
We were also pleased to welcome Anna and Steve from Bendigo Bank Parkdale to the opening. As our major sponsor over many years, Bendigo Bank has been a valued long-term partner of Mordialloc Bowls Club.
A Significant Investment in Our Future
The opening of two new greens represents a significant investment in the future of Mordialloc Bowls Club and the sport of lawn bowls in our area. These quality playing surfaces will serve our members and visitors for years to come, supporting both competitive play and social bowling activities.
The atmosphere was wonderful as members, dignitaries, and supporters gathered to mark this milestone. It’s a proud moment for everyone involved with the club, and we’re excited to see these greens in action throughout the coming seasons.
